Platform

The inception of AgriBolo was driven by the Godara brothers’ firsthand experience of the challenges faced by farmers in rural India. Coming from a farming family, they recognized the inefficiencies in the agricultural supply chain, where farmers like Balvinder Singh had to travel long distances for basic inputs. AgriBolo was founded on April 13, 2016, under Agrilife Technologies Pvt. Ltd., with the mission to provide farmers with easy access to agricultural inputs and expert advice, thereby energizing the entire agri-ecosystem.

Smart Solutions for Smarter Farming

AgriBolo offers a range of services through its app and call center, available in English and Hindi. Farmers can order seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, which are delivered to their doorstep, eliminating the need for long commutes. The platform also provides expert advice on farming practices, pest control, and fertilizer use, enhancing productivity and reducing costs. AgriBolo’s ‘Agrimart’ serves as a one-stop marketplace, while its e-trading service empowers farmers with better bargaining power for their produce.

Cultivating Community and Connectivity

The startup’s impact extends beyond individual farmers to the broader community. AgriBolo facilitates peer discussions and knowledge sharing among farmers, fostering a collaborative environment. The establishment of ‘AgriBolo Seva Kendras’ in remote areas ensures that farmers receive ground assistance and agricultural inputs. The platform’s franchise network, comprising 46 centers, serves approximately 2,000 farmers each, demonstrating its scalability and potential for replication across India.

Strengthening India’s Agricultural Digital Backbone

AgriBolo’s work aligns with several of India’s ongoing national programmes. It contributes to the Digital Agriculture Mission by offering farmers mobile-based access to services, bridging the urban-rural digital divide. Its model also supports PM-KISAN and PM-Fasal Bima Yojana by facilitating informed farming decisions that reduce risk and improve yield. AgriBolo also echoes the goals of the AgriStack initiative, by contributing digital farmer data that helps tailor inputs and advice to individual needs. Additionally, the startup’s community-driven model is in tune with the Mission Antyodaya and Rurban Mission, focused on rural prosperity through integrated development. By boosting supply chain efficiency, it also aids the goals of the National Agricultural Market (e-NAM) in enhancing market access and transparency for farmers.’

Sowing the Seeds of a Scalable Future

AgriBolo’s growth trajectory is impressive, with 250,000 farmers registered across 24,400 villages in Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Punjab as of 2022–23. The startup’s revenue reached ₹32.4 crore for FY 2022–23, reflecting a 24% year-on-year growth and a 557% compound annual growth rate over the past five years. Backed by I-Venture @ ISB and recognized by NITI Aayog as part of a digital agriculture initiative, AgriBolo is well-positioned to contribute to India’s agricultural transformation.

Towards a Digitally Empowered Agricultural Economy

Looking ahead, AgriBolo aims to become the largest rural distribution company in India, with plans to establish over 1,000 Seva Kendras nationwide. By providing end-to-end solutions, from farming practices to harvesting and selling, AgriBolo seeks to digitally empower farmers and reduce distress in the agricultural sector. The startup’s alignment with national goals and its innovative approach make it a pivotal player in India’s journey towards a self-reliant and developed agricultural economy.
